The Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage

Originally built as a movie cinema, the newly renovated heritage venue presents live theatre productions. The Bruce Milley Lounge in the theatre can accommodate a maximum capacity of 40 people. To entertain your guests, the art deco atmosphere will surely create a nogslagia feel of a buzzing movie night in the 1930s.

Shadbolt Centre for the Performing Arts

The community facility was built in 1995 to honor the renowned artist of Jack Shadbolt and writer Doris Shadbolt. The centre offers two theatres, six studios, rehearsal rooms, meeting rooms, pottery studios and an art shop. The architecture was built to capture the beautiful natural landscape of Deer Lake Park located in Burnaby.

Studio 103 has a 120-banquet capacity with access to Deer Lake Park, a gas fireplace, and a beautiful park view. The two-storey Atrium has a cathedral style ceiling of Douglas fir, stonework walls, and 25-foot windows. Both the Atrium and Park View Lounge can host up to 250 people for a banquet.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts

Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Built in 1959 by the City of Vancouver, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre is the home of Vancouver Opera and Ballet British Columbia. The 70 foot wide proscenium arch stage is the perfect multi-purpose venue for Broadway shows, pop and rock concerts, opera and dance, as well as live broadcast gala award ceremonies and telethons.

The salon rooms are flexible and available for private-receptions, meetings etc..

The National Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre is a multi-use facility at the corner of Kingsway and Sperling in Burnaby, BC. Officially opened on September 22, 2000, the Centre houses the National Nikkei Heritage Centre and the Japanese Canadian National Museum.

The Centre’s mandate is to promote a better understanding and appreciation by all Canadians of Japanese Canadian culture and heritage; and an awareness by all Canadians of the contribution of Japanese Canadians to Canadian society, through public programs, exhibits, services, publications, public use of the facilities and special events.

In addition to offering its own programs, the NNHC has a number of rooms available for rent for many purposes including meetings, demonstrations, weddings, receptions, small conferences, and other special events.

Performance Works

Originally an old machine shop dating back to the 1920’s, the Barbara Dalrymple designed Performance Works opened at 1218 Cartwright Street on Granville Island in 1992 with a mandate to provide the arts community with a permanent rehearsal and performance venue. Owned by CMHC – Granville Island, and managed by the Granville Island Theatre District, Performance Works is now a multifunctional, flexible black box theatre space fully booked year round with some of Vancouver’s most exciting performance events and productions.

Vancouver Museum

The Vancouver Museum can be found in the picturesque grounds of Vanier Park, this one-of-a-kind museum is known for its distinctive dome-shaped rooftop resembling a woven basket hat. It is a great location to charm your guests with a splendid view of English Bay, rolling mountains and ocean water. The museum has several spaces to host any social affair. It can hold 100 – 200 people for a reception or 50 – 80 people for a sit-down dinner.

Our meeting room, outside terrace and our gallery spaces are available for rent. Your guests can tour the Museum’s exciting exhibits or explore the historic vessel, St Roch, the first ship to navigate the treacherous Northwest Passage in both directions.

Sunset Community Centre

The new Sunset Community Centre opened its doors to the public on Monday, December 17, 2007. The 30,000 sq ft stylish structure was designed by Bing Thom Architects and was built by Haebler Construction Ltd. at a cost of just over $12 million. Funding for the project came from the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and the Sunset Community Association.

The striking new facility, 20% larger than the old centre, boasts a uniquely curved roofline resembling a five-petaled flower when viewed from the air. Major programmable space includes a full-sized gymnasium featuring a hardwood floor and ceiling, two multipurpose rooms, a fitness centre, aerobics/dance room, arts and crafts room, youth room and two preschools. As well a new passive park space to the south of the building has been created.

Roedde House Museum

Asks for a damage deposit, which is equivalent to half of the rental fee. Do not deposit that cheque; merely keep it until after the event. If no additional cleaning is necessary and no damages are done to the house, we return the damage deposit cheque.

It is the renter’s responsibility to provide a liquor license (easy, quick and cheap to get at any BC Liquor Store).

Recently hosted a dinner party and could fit about 20 people in the dining room, 14 at the main table and 6 on a separate one. There is potential for more if you wish to add a table of two in the parlour (since it directly opens on to the dining room).
