How far in advance should should I request a booking?
During peak seasons (summer and winter months), it is best to book at least 3 to 6 months in advance. For long weekends, we recommend booking even earlier. We try to accommodate last minute requests the best we can, but these requests are subject to our booking availability. We are a rapidly growing company, and do get booked up very quickly. Once we’ve received your deposit of 50% and the signed contract, your date will be confirmed.

What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). We accept certified/corporate cheques, interact transfer and Canadian currency. Many of our regular customers have set us up on EFT payments. Booking Policies

I have a favourite dish I don’t see on your menu, can you make it for my event?
We would love to. Our goal is to design a menu that fits with your vision, and equally to ours. Please inquire.

Can I supply my own alcohol for the event? Is there anything I need to know?
Yes, but you can buy it from us at a discount off of retail prices. Plus we deliver! If you still wish to supply your own, you are required to use our bartenders to serve it. All staff may be required to obtain a Special Occasion License, depending on the venue. Special Occasion Licencing

I don’t have a kitchen at the space I am hosting an event at, what can I do?
We can provide a full temporary on-site-kitchen that is up to code with Vancouver Coastal Health. Please inquire.

Do you have a minimum spend requirement?
Minimum spend requirements are in place for full serviced, staffed events. These minimums are date dependent, so please contact our sales team for more information.

When do I need to confirm guest numbers?
It depends. For ​​corporate events we require final guest numbers 7 business days prior to your event. Whereas for private events we require final guest numbers 10 business days prior to your event. After these dates, we are still able to accommodate minor increases in guest numbers on a case by case basis.

How far in advance should I start planning?
As soon as you say yes! Venues, catering companies, DJs, florists, etc. get booked up. Faster during the summer months. Saturdays in July and August, for example, are the first to go. So the earlier you start planning the better. We recommend that you start planning a minimum of six month in advance to ensure that you get everything you’re dreaming of.

Do you do tastings?

Absolutely, this is our favourite part of the planning process! We’d love to show you what we do best, and help you choose your perfect wedding menu. Our tastings cost $99 per guest (attending the tasting) and you can choose up to six items from your menu to taste.

Our tasting cost is credited back towards your wedding should you choose to move forward with us.

Do you take care of bar services?
Yes! Savoury Chef is Vancouver's Premier Full Service Catering Company. That means not just the food itself but also the bar, rentals and staffing. Do your menu prices include service staff and rentals?
No, we build all catering packages customized to the event itself. The first step is to schedule a call with one of our Event Specialists. During this call, we go over everything from the timeline, guest count, service style preferences, menu options, bar options, venue facilities and more. From there, we will put together a customized catering proposal for you.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

Yes! Our team has a great deal of experience handling all sorts of allergies and dietary restrictions. Let us know your requirements in advance and we will make the necessary adjustments to satisfy your guests.

Note that for very serious allergies, we cannot fully guarantee that your food is completely allergen free.

Does there need to be a kitchen onsite at my venue?
No. We can build a pop-up kitchen in no time flat. Call us to inquire.

What’s your ordering cut off time?
Please allow 3 business days for delivery. And we encourage ordering as soon as possible as some dates do book up quickly.

What is your delivery window?
Delivery window is 1 hour for week days and 2 hours on weekends. You will receive an email when your delivery is close by.

How does pricing work? How many people does a platter serve?
Our pricing is per person. For example our Antipasto Platter is $9.50 per person and requires a minimum order of 6 servings.

Full prepayment is required to confirm your order.

Is individual packaging available?
Yes! We are happy to provide individual or buffet style packaging. Just let us know your preference. We also offer paper service if you require, disposable plates, cutlery and napkins.
